RECIST 1.1
Perceptive has released its RECIST 1.1 toolset to help investigators apply the new version of RECIST (Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors) in medical imaging-based oncology trials.
RECIST is an important set of published rules that define when cancer patients improve, stay the same or worsen during treatments, and is used by the majority of today’s clinical trials evaluating cancer treatments for solid tumors. The benefits of the new 1.1 version, published in January 2009, include more robust data analysis for patients with certain disease indications as well as the ability to incorporate long-awaited enhancements to evaluate certain types of cancer treatments.
Perceptive’s RECIST 1.1 toolset includes our cutting-edge, proprietary image analysis and measurement technology which has been updated to support the new criteria. To help educate on the optimal use of RECIST, we have introduced the www.recist.com website, providing an extensive comparison between RECIST 1.0 and 1.1, and our RECIST Kiosk offers computer-based training for investigators. With a proven track record of thought leadership in medical imaging and having actively participated in the RECIST Working Group, Perceptive is leading the way in incorporating the RECIST criteria into Independent Review Charters for regulatory approval of oncology treatments.
