Andrew Buckler has over 25 years experience solving problems and implementing breakthroughs for the life science industry, particularly in the area of medical imaging. Mr. Buckler is currently Principal at Buckler Biomedical Associates LLC and President and CEO of vascuVis Inc.
Mr. Buckler serves as Program Director of the Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance (QIBA), scientific advisor to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) in connection with the qualification of volumetric CT and quantitative FDG-PET for regulatory decision making in clinical trials, Subject Matter Expert in imaging for both radiology and pathology in the Cancer Bioinformatics Grid program (caBIG), and is PI for a recently awarded grant from NIST for the pursuit of informatics services for statistically valid and clinically meaningful development and performance assessment of quantitative imaging biomarkers. Mr. Buckler has also formed vascuVis Inc. to develop products for the characterization of atherosclerotic plaques to reduce death and disability due to stroke and heart attack. Prior to these activities, Mr. Buckler has served in a variety of leadership roles in industry, having held successive Director roles at Philips Healthcare, and management and engineering roles at Hewlett-Packard, Siemens Medical, and Eastman Kodak. He has served as Research & Development Director, Imaging Systems focused on management, technology strategy, and business process for advanced application of in-vivo imaging for disease management and drug discovery.
Mr. Buckler holds a certificate in “Leading Science-Based Enterprises” from Harvard Business School, a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University. He is a member of ACM, IEEE and PMI.
