Experienced Turner takes on new Training And Development role at ClinPhone

- June 19, 2002 The ClinPhone Group, which specialises in providing electronic clinical trial management solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, has appointed Jenny Turner as its new UK Training and Development Manager. In her new role, Turner - from Nottingham - will be responsible for the training and development for the whole of the UK operation of ClinPhone, which includes the management of the British Computer Society and ClinPhone Professional Development schemes. She will also be responsible for ensuring ClinPhone complies with industry-related regulations and will oversee the day to day running and management of the training and development department. Turner (30) has almost four years of experience on the client-facing side at ClinPhone where she was worked both as a Clinical Project Manager and then Senior Project Manager. Her most recent role within the organisation was Operations Manager. Prior to joining ClinPhone in 1998, she gained experience not only as a Research Pharmacologist for Astra Zeneca but also spent some time as a Clinical Research Associate at Shire Pharmaceuticals. Turner believes the hands-on experiences gained in the role will help her target the most appropriate specific areas of training and development, commenting: "In my previous role, my customers were the company clients. Within this role, the customers are our staff. They are no less important and represent the single most important asset of the company. This appreciation of client expectations is the key to ClinPhone providing the right training and development for its staff. "As the company is growing so quickly, our main challenge will be to ensure all new starters receive a comprehensive induction and orientation programme and become familiar with the ClinPhone culture and their role as soon as possible. We also need to make sure that all existing staff are continually trained and no opportunities are missed. "All employees at ClinPhone are members of a Professional Career Development scheme, with all technical staff being members of the British Computer Society. These schemes allow us to track and monitor the training identified for an individual or a department." The ClinPhone Group now employs around 250 people worldwide and retains its global headquarters in Nottingham in the United Kingdom. It has three further facilities in the United States, in New Jersey, Chicago and San Francisco and a central European office in Brussels, Belgium.
