New ClinPhone Opportunity Brings Joy
- August 13, 2002
New Human Resource Manager Melanie Joy brings more than six years experience with three of Europe's top companies to the Nottingham-based ClinPhone Group.
She will assume responsibility for developing and implementing the company's HR strategy and delivering the day-to-day operational HR service, which will include, for example, compliance with Employment Law, the day-to-day management of the HR team and providing advice to managers.
Joy brings a wide range of experience to her new role. She graduated from Staffordshire University with an Upper Second in Business Studies before moving to Portsmouth to assume the position of HR Assistant with Zurich Financial Services on a two-year graduate training programme.
Having completed that, she joined the Communications division of Racal Defence Electronics Ltd in Bracknell as HR Officer responsible for the management of the graduate training scheme and for providing generalist HR support to over 350 engineers.
After a further two years there Melanie relocated to Nottingham, joining Siemens Communications as the Regional Personnel Officer, providing regional generalist personnel support to around 300 employees. It was in this role that she gained experience of working with a variety of employees, including call centre staff, field engineers, sales staff, account managers and project managers.
"I have the benefit of a vast amount of generalist human resource experience acquired from different blue chip organisations," explained Melanie. "This includes knowledge of human resource best practices and employment law and a significant amount of human resource-related project work such as competency development, effective communications, effective recruitment practices and graduate training schemes. It's all knowledge which will prove useful working for a fast growing and developing company like ClinPhone."
ClinPhone is the world leader in clinical trial management and has supported more than 700 trials in over 80 countries and 60 languages. It is the market leader in the design, development and management of bespoke telephone and Internet-based IT systems, which dramatically reduce the costs and improve the efficiency of conducting clinical trials. The company has three offices in the United States, one in Brussels and its headquarters in Nottingham.
