Schaaf Appointment Signals ClinPhone Growth In Europe

- November 6, 2002 Expanding pharmaceutical and biotechnology eClinical management specialist ClinPhone has signalled a major push into the European pharmaceutical marketplace with the appointment of Stefan Schaaf as European Business Development Manager. The company has enjoyed tremendous success and growth in the UK and US pharmaceutical markets as demand increases for its clinical trial management solutions in recent years. It employs over 320 people worldwide and has offices in New Jersey, Chicago and San Francisco in the United States, a central European office in Brussels, Belgium and a new office in Heidelberg, Germany to support its headquarters in Nottingham, England. Schaaf, who joins the company after two years at Hertford Medical International, brings more than two decades of experience in the industry to ClinPhone. A German educated in Switzerland, Schaaf began his career as a sales representative, progressing to positions including regional sales management and sales and marketing functions for both pharmaceutical companies and CROs (Contract Research Organisations). Based in Germany, he will be responsible for building relationships with the pharmaceutical industry in Germany and Europe. The objective is to create new business and partnerships as well as introducing ClinPhone and its services to the European market. Experience will be vital in the key new role, as he explained. "Being in sales and marketing during the last 20 years has given me a great understanding of the pharmaceutical market. "I know the clinical areas and the majority of the opinion formers and decision makers. It is exciting to be instrumental in developing opportunities in the third biggest pharmaceutical market in the world by supporting the market leader in IVRS and Electronic Trial Management."
