Perceptive Informatics Announces Version 2.0 Release of its Clinical Trial Interactive Web Response System
Boston, MA , February 6, 2006 - Perceptive Informatics, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of PAREXEL International Corporation (NASDAQ: PRXL), today announced the release of its Interactive Web Response System (IWRS) version 2.0. Perceptive's IWRS 2.0 integrates with its industry leading Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and is a sophisticated web interface for data capture, patient randomization and the management of study drug inventory for clinical trials.
"Perceptive started offering IWRS solutions to the bio/pharmaceutical industry over six years ago, and we are now bringing the next generation of capability to trial sponsors to help accelerate the clinical trial process and streamline trial management," said Todd A. Joron, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Perceptive Informatics. "Sponsors could experience significant cost reduction and greater efficiencies in study management when IWRS is used to the fullest extent. Perceptive's goal is to help clients further streamline their clinical trial processes, reduce waste in clinical supplies and make inventory management more predictive and accurate."
Perceptive's IWRS version 2.0, offering a richer user environment and improved performance, is a single web application for reporting and interactive web response. Perceptive IWRS allows study teams to access real-time web reporting for all aspects of clinical trials tracking, thereby enhancing the ability of clinical teams to make real-time informed decisions about key components of their clinical trial. The system's interactive features include snapshots of project status as well as detailed study metrics, enabling trial monitors to follow progress of their sites, plan and prepare monitoring and to identify potential site issues, such as slow enrollment and high dropout rates. Sponsors can also aggregate data from multiple sources, such as Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), data management, and enterprise resource planning systems, to provide a more comprehensive view of their clinical trials.
The Perceptive IWRS solution allows for seamless convergence between voice and web systems, and provides sophisticated tools for site recruitment and management as well as inventory management and clinical supplies forecasting. The system can be configured for patient screening, enrollment, randomization, compliance and electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO). The Perceptive IWRS is a fully validated system, which is in compliance with 21CFR Part 11 regulations and guidelines.
