Perceptive Imaging Adds Industry Veterans Peter Eggleton and Manish Sharma to Scientific & Medical Leadership Team
August 4, 2026 — Perceptive Imaging, the leading independent imaging core lab for the clinical research community, today announced the appointments of Peter Eggleton, MD, FFPM, as Vice President, Scientific & Medical Services and Manish Sharma, MD, as Chief Medical Officer, Oncology. The appointments further strengthen the company’s ability to support sponsors with both imaging strategy and central review leadership.
“Peter and Manish bring complementary capabilities that are important to sponsors,” said Gregory Goldmacher, MD, PhD, MBA, Chief Scientific & Medical Officer of Perceptive Imaging. “Peter has spent decades leading clinical development and implementing imaging in clinical trials on the sponsor side, while Manish has enormous experience in building imaging core lab teams and leading high-performing central review programs. Together, they strengthen how we support sponsors from study planning through study execution and enhance our ability to deliver imaging excellence worldwide, with Peter based in the UK and Manish in India.”
As Vice President, Scientific & Medical Services, Dr. Eggleton will work directly with sponsors to help develop imaging strategies that better align with study objectives, operational realities, and development plans. He brings more than 35 years of experience in clinical trial design, imaging strategy, and portfolio-level development planning, including 26 years at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.

As Chief Medical Officer, Oncology, Dr. Sharma will oversee Perceptive’s oncology reader programs, including reader recruitment, training, performance management, and the continued advancement of central review best practices. Returning to Perceptive after holding senior leadership roles with multiple imaging service providers and at clinical development organizations, he brings more than two decades of experience building imaging core lab teams and leading high-performing central review programs.

Peter Eggleton, MD, FFPM Vice President, Scientific and Medical Services Dr. Eggleton holds dual specialist certifications in diagnostic radiology and pharmaceutical medicine and has 35+ years of experience in pharmaceutical clinical development, with a particular focus on solid tumor oncology and neurology. He is thought to be the only radiologist who has led a therapeutic blockbuster to global regulatory success. He specializes in applying imaging science to study and project design to maximize opportunities for success and has authored numerous publications on both imaging science and general oncology clinical research. For many years, he served as Principal Expert for Diagnostic Radiology and Pharmaceutical Development at Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany. |

Manish Sharma, MD Chief Medical Officer, Oncology Dr. Manish Sharma is a radiologist and physician executive with over two decades of experience advancing oncology drug development through imaging strategy and scientific leadership. Having worked across investigator sites, sponsors, CROs, and imaging core labs, he brings a uniquely integrated perspective to clinical development and regulatory strategy. He has supported more than 600 clinical trials and 200+ regulatory approvals while building global medical teams and establishing new scientific capabilities.
