Perceptive Imaging Appoints Gregory Goldmacher as Chief Scientific & Medical Officer to Further Strengthen Scientific Leadership and Sponsor Partnership

May 26, 2026 — Perceptive Imaging, the leading independent imaging core lab for the clinical research community, today announced the appointment of Gregory V. Goldmacher, MD, PhD, MBA, as Chief Scientific & Medical Officer (CSMO). His appointment reflects the company’s continued investment in scientific leadership and further strengthens alignment with clinical trial sponsors.

“Greg brings a rare combination of sponsor-side and CRO insight, clinical trial leadership, and imaging expertise,” said Doug Fulling, Chief Executive Officer of Perceptive Imaging. “He understands how sponsors use imaging to support regulatory submissions and key development decisions. His experience will help us better anticipate those needs and strengthen how we partner with clients.”

Dr. Goldmacher joins Perceptive with more than two decades of experience across clinical development, medical imaging, and data science. Most recently, he spent eleven years at Merck as Head of Clinical Imaging and Pathology, where he led a team supporting more than 300 clinical trials and contributing to more than 50 regulatory approvals. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Medical Director and Head of Oncology Imaging at ICON Clinical Research, leading independent endpoint assessments across more than 110 clinical trials

In his role as Chief Scientific & Medical Officer, Dr. Goldmacher will lead Perceptive Imaging’s Scientific & Medical organization, with responsibility for advancing scientific strategy, strengthening engagement with sponsors, and guiding the continued evolution of imaging capabilities.

Dr. Goldmacher received his MD and PhD in neuroscience from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and an MBA from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. He completed his clinical training in diagnostic radiology with fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience. He has authored numerous publications in imaging and clinical trial methods, and has held leadership roles in cross-industry collaborations, including CDISC, RSNA’s Quantitative Imaging Committee, and the RECIST Working Group.
