Sean Carlin, PhD, brings more than 30 years of experience translating innovative radiopharmaceuticals from discovery into the clinic. His expertise spans molecular imaging, radioligand therapy, regulatory strategy, and first-in-human clinical development, helping bridge preclinical research with successful clinical programs. Before joining Perceptive Discovery, Dr. Carlin held scientific leadership positions at Abdera Therapeutics, Invicro, the University of Pennsylvania, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he led translational research, imaging biomarker development, and radiopharmaceutical innovation. Dr. Carlin has published more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is widely recognized for advancing precision oncology through translational science and strategic collaboration.

Sven Macholl, PhD, has >20 years of experience advancing and applying preclinical multimodal imaging for radiopharmaceutical development. His expertise gained in academia, at GE Healthcare and Invicro/Perceptive includes radioligand diagnostics and therapy, radiation dosimetry, MRI, sophisticated analysis & modeling, and complex study design in molecular imaging and many other modalities. At Perceptive Discovery, Dr. Macholl has directed countless multidisciplinary research teams and programs with strategic collaborations across North America and Europe. His planning and execution of integrated imaging strategies accelerate drug development, answer client’s and regulator’s questions, and reduce translational risk.

Filipa Mota, PhD, is a scientific leader with expertise in radioligand therapy, radionuclide imaging, and translational drug development. With more than 15 years of experience spanning academia and industry, she has led multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners from early discovery through IND-enabling studies. Prior to serving as Director of Radioligand Therapies at Perceptive Discovery, Dr. Mota held leadership roles as London-QMUL Site Head at Invicro, overseeing scientific strategy, operational excellence, and sponsor-driven research programs. Her research at King’s College London and Johns Hopkins University advanced drug development and molecular imaging across multiple therapeutic areas, and she has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications while maintaining active collaborations with leading academic institutions.

Julian Goggi, PhD is a translational imaging scientist with more than 20 years of experience advancing radiopharmaceuticals from discovery through IND-enabling development. His expertise spans radioligand therapy and molecular imaging across oncology, neurology, and metabolic disease. Prior to joining Perceptive Discovery, Dr. Goggi held scientific leadership positions in both academia and industry, including A*STAR, the National University of Singapore and GE Healthcare, where he led multidisciplinary research collaborations and translational imaging programs. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and now oversees scientific strategy and IND-enabling studies that help bring innovative radiopharmaceuticals toward clinical translation.

Gengyang Yuan, PhD, brings more than 13 years of experience in radiopharmaceutical research and development, specializing in theranostic radioligands and targeted radionuclide therapies. His expertise encompasses radiochemistry, medicinal chemistry, CMC, regulatory strategy, and IND-enabling development across a broad range of therapeutic and diagnostic isotopes. Before joining Perceptive Discovery, Dr. Yuan served in scientific leadership roles at Lantheus Medical Imaging, Harvard Medical School, and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he helped advance novel radiopharmaceutical candidates from preclinical discovery into early clinical evaluation. A recipient of the SNMMI Young Investigator Award, Dr. Yuan is also an inventor on multiple patents and has made significant contributions to the field through his scientific publications and translational research.
